Catanduanes is part of Bicol Region, located at the inner most area of Luzon. This Province is now marketed as “Happy Island”, but it was before dubbed as “The Land of Howling Winds”. That is due to the fact that Catanduanes is the first landmass in the country to kiss the Pacific Ocean, making it directly open to the path of tropical storms entering the Philippines. Catanduanes is called the Happy Island for a reason. We all know that Filipinos are naturally happy people, so expect Catandungans to welcome you with open arms as you step foot onto their island.
