I have finally met the living legend 102 years old, Maria Oggay known as Apo Whang-Od to many. The travel to her place is no walk in the park. Reaching this humble village of Buscalan is a bit of a challenge, it was not practically a friendly trek and the long wait to be marked by Apo is another thing.
Prepare yourself emotionally and physically. Did I say the trek was not easy? Prepare to be disconnected. There is no phone signal here, even more data signal. Your phone is good for nothing except for setting an alarm to be awake just right in time for the sunrise and for taking photos and videos.
