Ever heard of “Summer is coming”? Only in the Philippines. Well, in that case, Halo Halo is the most popular dessert and the best for quenching the scorching heat of summer days in the Philippines. Upon my visit in Koronadal, there’s only one place to go where to find this tasteful and refreshing must-try dish – I give you, APAREJA BUKO HALO HALO! It is a good place to stop by when traveling from General Santos to Koronadal, South Cotabato during the hot days.

It contains basic fresh ingredients like slices of sweet potatoes and bananas, red kaong, gelatin, corn flakes, shave ice with milk, my favorite sweet leche flan and classic ube ice cream on top. I enjoy every scoop of this Halo Halo served inside a “buko”(coconut) where also you can scrape the coconut meat. It comes with buko juice in a pitcher instead of drinking water in case you need to wash down. I also ordered buko pie, so it’s a triple buko meal for me, hoping I don’t get stomach ache.

I didn’t get to finish my buko pie ‘cause, I mostly eat halo halo. In the end, I got my tummy full, I got refreshed, it’s a great experience, and I will definitely comeback.
