A mountain that is just 40 mins.away from our Site the Gaisano Capital Iriga in Iriga City, is called Mount Asog, also known as Mount Iriga. This is an old volcano in the Bicol Region, besides from our Mount Mayon in Albay, this Mountain has also its own Charm. Mt. Asog has a colorful history, based on our Godmother story, it was named after an Ancient Datu of the Agtas named Asog, who reigned over the region. Sometimes it is also called Mt. Sumagang, which means “Mountain of the Rising Sun”. Another story from my Godparents is also that Mt. Iriga has erupted already in 1628 and 1642 that has made a huge Lake which is now called “Lake Buhi” but this is just a story 😊. Considering the views this are breathtaking, offering a view of Mt. Mayon, Mt. Malinao, at Mt. Masaraga on the south; and even a distant Catanduanes southeast.
