This is a church. And this is a cave. It’s a church in a cave!
Few years back, I went home with friends and one of our itinerary is to go to Callao Cave . Callao Cave is one of the limestone caves located in the municipality of Peñablanca Cagayan. It took us 187 steps for us to reach the cave’s main archway. The cave is composed of 7 chambers where you can feel certain tranquility as the chapel on the first chamber greets you. If you’ve watched the movie “The Mistress”, John Lloyd goes and drives Bea Alonzo to deliver an outfit for a wedding which was held in this chapel, that is inside the cave. This was also featured in several TV shows like Rated K. As we continue walking inside the cave, we crossed a number of chambers with beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations. Some of the chambers have natural opening on the roof, allowing the sunlight to lit the interior of the caves (as shown on my pictures).
