Davao Occidental is a province in the Philippines situated in the Davao Region occupying the southeastern section of Mindanao. Its capital is the Municipality of Malita.
The province has a land area of 2,163.45 square kilometers or 835.31 square miles. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 317,159. This represented 6.05% of the total population of the Davao Region, 1.21% of the overall population of the Mindanao island group, or 0.29% of the entire population of the Philippines. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 147 inhabitants per square kilometer or 380 inhabitants per square mile.
